This IBM software offering supports the IBM ARTIC960 MCA
and the IBM ARTIC960 PCI co-processor adapters. These Co-Processors
are equipped with an Intel 80960C-Series microprocessor
and includes 1 MB of instruction DRAM along with 4 to 16 MB of
80960 packet DRAM. Communication specific support is
accomplished by the attachment of an application interface
board (AIB). Additionally these Co-Processors provide a powerful
and flexible communication interface for MCA or PCI bus based
applications requiring a high-speed synchronous connections.
