If the DMP-240 printer detects any trouble during operation, it lights or
flashes the ALARM indicator and displays an error message. Respond to these
messages as described below.

OFF LINE      The printer is out of paper. The ALARM indicator lights and 
P.OUT         the printer goes off line. Load more paper.

PAPER         A paper jam has occurred. The ALARM indicator lights and the
JAM           printer goes off line. Remove the jammed paper, then press ON
              LINE.

DATA          Data exists in the receive buffer when you:
IN BUFFER     * Load a macro (either in menu mode or quick mode)
              * Change the emulation mode.
              The ALARM indicator lights and printing stops. After two sec-
              onds the printer returns to the condition it was in before the
              error message appeared. To discard data in the buffer, set the
              printer off line, press and hold SAVE, and press ON LINE.

PAPERSEN      Paper is loaded from both the bottom and rear side of the pri-
ERROR         nter. The ALARM indicator lights and the printer goes off line.
              Load the paper correctly.

HEAD HOT      The print head is too hot. The ALARM indicator flashes and the
              printer stops printing. You do not need to do anything. When 
              the print head cools down, the ALARM light goes off, the dis-
              play changes to ONLINE, and printing resumes.

PULL          The printer has received a reverse line feed operation in the
TRACTOR       pull tractor mode. The printer does not perform reverse line
              feeds. The ALARM indicator flashes and the printer stops prin-
              ting. After two seconds, the printer goes off-line. Press ON
              LINE to return to the on-line mode.
              NOTE: This error message appears when the REV LF (reverse line
              feed) menu has been set to OFF (disabled). If you set this menu
              to ON (enabled), the printer performs the reverse line feed,
              even in the pull tractor mode.

HOME          The print head was not positioned properly. The ALARM indicator
ERROR         lights and the printer goes off line. Check to insure that 
              there is no foreign matter in the printer. Turn off the prin-
              ter, then turn it on again.

RAM ERROR     The ALARM indicator lights and the printer goes off line. If 
EEPROM ERROR  any of these messages appears, turn off the printer, then turn 
PIN ERROR     on it again. If the message appears again, call your local 
              Radio Shack Computer Center or store.
