WinMate Tandy 3200 (250-1633) Profiler Faxback Doc. # 3206

Use the Profiler application to enter the name of each person who uses
WinMate. Profiler keeps track of specific information about user such as
travel, hobby, and work information.

From the In Charge desktop, double-click on the Profiler icon.

When you open Profiler for the first time, the Create a New User dialog
box appears.

Once you have added a user to Profiler, this dialog box no longer
appears when you open the application. To add subsequent users, click
on the New User Icon in Profiler, or select New User from the User
    from the User menu.

Your nickname (or first name if a nickname was not entered) appears below
a picture icon on a Profiler screen similar to the one that follows:

You can customize the picture icon using Open User from the User's
menu. For more information, see the on-line help.

Profiler stores specific information about each new user. In addition
to the name and birth date you enter when creating a user record, you
can also add such information as hotel/rental car preferences and frequent
travel numbers, clothing sizes, and work information (such as address and
job title). From the Users menu you can create a password for yourself
to protect any personal information you may want to store.

Protecting information

After you have entered yourself as a user in the Profiler application, you
can select yourself and sign on as the current WinMate user. You can
enter personal information and designate that information as protected -
available only to a user signed on as you. If you create a password, the
password is necessary to sign on. Any private information is then
password-protected.

On the other hand, if other WinMate users want to check information about
you in Profiler, they can see any information that you have not protected.
For example, if Austin wants to see Will's clothing size information so he
can buy a gift, Austin could highlight Will in Profiler and then select
Will's clothing information, unless Will has specified clothing as
protected.

Using the Super User Password

In addition to individual passwords for each user, you can set up a super
user password that you can type in any password field to access protected
information. The super user password is set by the first user to set it.
After that, any user wishing to change the super user password must know
the current super user password.

The super user password is particularly useful if a user forgets an
individual password. Simply sign on as that user using the super user
password. Under Set New Password the current user's password is
displayed.

Choose Set Super User Password from the User's menu.

The password and super user password are case sensitive - If you
create a password with capital letters, you must enter the password in
capital letters for it to work.
