MMPC Model 10/20 (250-1640/41) Running TEST-SBP Faxback Doc. # 2576

TEST-SBP is a utility that checks for audio adapter configuration
possibilities in a set order. If you have changed any adapter jumper
settings, there is a delay between the testing of each setting. You can
prevent the delays by entering "TEST-SBP/M" to test the adapter. The /M
option set the program for manual selection. The program lets you make
selections that match the adapter configuration you set using the jumpers
on the adapter.

To run TEST-SBP, exit Windows. Type "cd \cdrom" and press ENTER. Then,
type "test-sbp" or "test-sbp/m" and press ENTER to run the utility.

* If TEST-SBP detects a device conflict, it displays an
error message and/or stops the test. If this happens,
press ENTER or restart the computer to exit TEST-SBP.
Review the interrupts, port addresses, and DMA channels
set for the devices installed in your system. Refer to
"Adapter Jumpers" in the "Audio Adapter Appendix" for
information about audio adapter jumper settings.

* If TEST-SBP does not detect a conflict, it displays the
ports, interrupts, and DMA channels set for the audio
   adapter at program completion.

* If you change the default configuration of the audio
adapter, refer to "Changing Audio Software Settings" for
information on updating the audio drivers. After
changing the adapter configuration, run TEST-SBP again
to verify that all conflicts are resolved.

> Caution: Error messages and/or unreliable audio adapter and CD-ROM
drive operation can results when device conflicts exist in the system.
TEST-SBP detects only those conflicts that occur when devices in your
system use the audio port address, audio interrupt, or audio DMA channel
you set with the audio adapter jumpers.
