DESCRIPTION
BUSINESS SOLUTIONS
This model, 8573-031, of the Personal System/2 Model P70 family
offers a lower entry price point than the two existing models. The
system features a 16MHz 80386 microprocessor with 2MB high speed
memory, all models expandable to 16MB with memory options.
The integrated grayscale gas plasma display presents both text
and graphics with excellent clarity and detail allowing the user to
present documents, advanced business graphics, and digitized photos
outside the office. The Model P70 386 provides a 32-bit system
architecture that supports large single and multitask applications.
The PS/2 Model 70 386 may be used as a stand-alone system or as an
office desktop connected intelligent workstation, easily moved from
one location to another, with connectivity established through its
optional internal modem (94X1755).
STANDARD FEATURES
The 8573-031 comes standard with a 30MB fixed disk drive and
integrated controller. All models come standard with:
o 1.44MB, 3.5-inch diskette drive
o Pointing device port
o Serial/asynchronous port
o Parallel port
o Video Graphics Array (VGA) port
o External storage device port.
The external storage device port is the equivalent of the B
drive internal diskette port, as found in the PS/2 Model 70. This
permits attachment of externally powered devices like the IBM 4869
External Diskette Drive Model 001 and some other equipment
manufacturers' backup devices.
GRAPHICS
The VGA port supports all VGA graphics and text modes including 640 x
480 graphics, 320 x 200 graphics in 256 colors, and 720 x 400 text
using any optional PS/2 VGA color display, and maintains
compatibility with CGA and EGA modes.
DRIVE SPECIFICATIONS
The fixed disk drive has a capacity of 30MB. The controller is
integrated with the drive.
